The six things that change a quote

1. Number and size of windows. Large picture windows and stacking doors take longer than standard panes.
2. Inside, outside or both. Both sides is the most common booking.
3. Height and access. Ground floor versus first floor, balconies, steep gardens and what can be reached safely.
4. Burglar bars, security gates and fly screens. Working around bars and removing screens takes time.
5. Condition. Salt build-up, hard-water spots from sprinklers, or paint and cement splatter after building work.
6. Frequency. A regular clean takes less time per visit than a first clean after a long gap.

Comparing quotes

When you compare quotes, check what's actually included. Are frames, sills and sliding-door tracks part of it, or only the glass? Is the company insured? Will it cover inside and outside? A cheaper glass-only clean often needs redoing sooner.
